Michael R. Fannon

Michael R. Fannon

Michael R. Fannon is the Founder and CEO of BioIT Solutions, a company specializing in advanced computational, workflow and data management systems for biotechnology research, clinical diagnostics and drug development. Mr. Fannon advises emerging biotechnology companies in business strategy, customer relationship management, laboratory automation and IT management. He is the chief architect of BioIT‘s 1Platform4 software that captures, presents, and analyzes information along the full biotech product lifecycle. Previously, Mr. Fannon was Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Human Genome Sciences, where he and his team designed computerized systems to manage HGS’s high-volume labs, R&D functions, product development and clinical trials. Mr. Fannon earned an MBA in Operations Analysis from American University, and a Bachelors degree in Physics from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.

Behzad Gohari

Behzad Gohari

Mr. Gohari has spent his career at the intersection of capital markets, law and technology. Over two decades, and through a dozen startups, he has acted as founder, investor and strategic advisor, as well as utilizing his expertise in cross-border transactions, involving debt and equity financing. In addition to corporate development, equity investments and placements, as well as various securities offerings and financing transactions, he has served as a strategic advisor to startups from the software and biotechnology industries. He has successfully guided his clients and portfolio companies through two of the largest financial crises of the past century developing a unique expertise and deeper appreciation of the interaction between international financial regulation, and the impact of interlocking regulatory regimes on the global markets.

In addition to his JD, he has an MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, and an LLM with Distinction in Securities and Financial Regulation from Georgetown University Law Center. Mr. Gohari been quoted by Wall Street Journal’s MarketWatch, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, Chicago Tribune, Compliance Week and the Law360 Blog. He has been published in the Westlaw Journal of Securities Regulation, National Mortgage News, Bank Systems & Technology, and Wall Street & Technology as an author. His academic interest is the prevention, management and mitigation of systemic crises. Mr. Gohari has lived, worked and studied in Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

Lindsay Hoover

Lindsay Hoover

Lindsay Hoover has over 20 years of experience in financial services, including risk management and regulatory compliance, investment banking, strategic advisory and consulting, and principal investing.

Ms. Hoover’s investment banking experience includes assisting companies with risk management and regulatory compliance issues, mergers and acquisitions, placements of equity and debt, and alliance formation. She has extensive experience in Hong Kong consulting to U.S. companies seeking to enter the China market.

Ms. Hoover began her career as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. State Department. She received a B.A. in Russian and an MBA. from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. She is Series 7 and 63 licensed.

She has previously served on the board of the Financial Women’s Association of San Francisco and the San Francisco chapter of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Federation.

Mohsen Marefat

Mohsen Marefat

Mr. Marefat has spent his professional life at the juncture where science, international commerce and entrepreneurship meet. He began his career as a researcher at NASA, designing a novel interactive CAD program. As an engineer at IBM, he led multidisciplinary teams in research, design, manufacturing, and marketing of networked appliances, implementing operational efficiencies and commercializing nascent technology.

Over the past two decades, he has been part of leadership and investment teams in over a dozen startups in the information technology, telecommunications, and biotechnology industries. He has been involved in bringing to market a revolutionary decision engine with applications in CRM and SFA, and a clinical cancer screening method that uses a blood test for early diagnosis of cancer. Having lived and worked in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, he brings his deep understanding of these markets, and their unique business and cultural practices to each enterprise. Mr. Marefat holds a Masters and Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, as well as two patents.
